Initiated by Andreas Liesenfeld and Mark Dingemanse in 2023, the European Open-Source AI Index conducts academic research on open-source AI, publishes technology assessments, and hosts an open, community-driven database with information on model openness, licensing, and EU regulation of generative AI systems and providers.
