About the AI Infrastructure Lab
Our work is defined by three interconnected strands: AI industry research, AI technology assessment, and digital sovereignty. By tracking developments in the AI industry sector and evaluating the technical, societal and ecological footprint of new systems, we aim to understand the real-world impact of AI technologies on the way we live and work together. We build on these insights to contribute to debates on digital sovereignty, rethinking how technological advancement can align with sustainable, localized control over critical infrastructure and sovereign data.
It is hosted at the Centre of Language and Speech Technology, Radboud University, The Netherlands.
#Research The lab investigates software and hardware ecosystems that power artificial intelligence, mapping out their societal and economic implications.
AI Industry Research
Tracking developments in the AI industry sector to map rapidly evolving market dynamics, identifying key players, investment trends, and strategic shifts within the global ecosystem.
AI Technology Assessment
Rigorously evaluating the technical, societal, and ecological footprints of new AI systems to separate industry hype from practical reality, giving us a true understanding of their real-world impact.
Digital Sovereignty
Developing frameworks and rethinking how technological advancement can align with sustainable, localized control over critical infrastructure and sovereign data to empower organizations and policymakers.
